Become an ancient Greek seaman aboard world’s only trireme! Gain a lifelong memory and learn all about its Naval History becoming a part of it.

The trireme is a fully operational replica of an ancient Greek warship, it belongs to the Hellenic Navy -Greek Ministry of Defense-, which gives the opportunity to the public to become actual rowers on the ship, just for 5 Sundays every summer (dates are announced end of May/beginning of June). Our role is to prepare you with all necessary information and theoretical training in English, and organize your participation. The experience starts a few days before rowing, with a 15 minutes private informative video where our naval history expert shares information about the trireme’s crew, the role of the oarsmen and marines, their positions, the methods of ramming, the “ideal strike” and the battle tactics. She will also teach you the rowing commands (as they are given in ancient Greek by the captain), a tip that you will find quite useful at rowing. Few days later, you will go to the Floating Naval Museum of Athens (entrance ticket is not included, last year it was 5€), and participate at rowing following the instructions /commands of the Greek Navy Officers. You will be the ship’s moving power, meaning a suitable physical condition is required!
