Walk literally in the footsteps of Aristotle’s students, exploring his moral theory on how to behave and act to achieve Eudaimonia, the ultimate human goal.

This workshop starts at the Rizari Park and continues at the archeological site of Lyceum. It lasts approximately 1,5-2 hours and is designed for adults and teenagers age 14+. In the beginning, you will settle in the park (sit on a bench, mat or pillows) in a shaded place and listen actively, as your interpreter presents a short timeline of the ancient Greek philosophy, explaining the historical connection between Socrates-Plato-Aristotle. Then, you will walk 10 minutes towards the nearby archaeological site of Lyceum, where Aristotle’s School used to be (entrance ticket is not included). After entering Lyceum, you will philosophize while walking same as the Aristotle’s students used to do. During your stroll around the ruins, you will play an easy multiple-choice game where you need to trace the virtuous choice, understanding this way the actual application of the Aristotelian Moral theory of virtues. In the end, you will settle at the small Amphitheater with a direct view of the excavations. There, you will read Aristotle’s phrases aloud, in ancient Greek (!) and discuss how the Aristotelian theory can help us achieve Eudaimonia = a well lived life.
