Discover the origins of the theater in its birthplace, while working on an ancient Greek play as both writers and performers.
This workshop takes place at the venue of your preference, we usually rent the Open-air theater at Philopappos Hill early in the morning (theater rent is included). It lasts approximately 1,5-2 hours and is designed for adults and teenagers age 12+. Your expert facilitator will begin with an introduction on the Ancient Greek theater (origins, writers, types of plays, play structure). Then you will learn how to write lyrics in ancient Greek rhyme. Team work follows next; you will write the lyrics for a specific scene of a famous Greek tragedy following the ancient rhyme. In the end, you will perform your own writing, wearing ancient Greek costumes (costumes’ rent is included, simple costumes, adult-one size, shoes are not included).
Theater workshop is a new one, so there is no presentation video yet, however you may get an idea from a similar workshop that we did for comedians Harry Hill and Chris McCausland, for Open Mike Productions, show ”Wonders of the World I Can’t See, Athens” / Channel 4 / BBC studios
